MAZDA CX-90 RANGE

Let’s start our conversation with some facts on the battery and the Mazda CX-90 PHEV range. This is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, or PHEV, and as such, it features two motors that work together in perfect synchronicity, the e-SKYACTIV®-PHEV: 2.5L engine and 68 kW electric motor.

The 2.5L engine is gas-powered while the 68 kW electric motor recharges by being plugged in. The Mazda CX-90 PHEV range is an EPA-estimated 26 miles. This means you can turn off the gas engine and go solely off electricity for 26 miles before needing to switch back to gas. It’s perfect for running errands while saving money on gas. You also have the option of running your vehicle off gas and electricity at the same time for truly next-level fuel economy.

MAZDA CX-90 CHARGING TIME

The next thing we should talk about is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 charging time. Since this is a hybrid, the Mazda CX-90 charging time is less than you would find in an all-electric vehicle. It’s also your golden opportunity to dip your toes into alternative fuels without the lifestyle changes that a full EV would provide. No matter which trim level you choose, here are your estimated charging times if your Mazda CX-90 PHEV battery is between 20 percent and 80 percent charged:

  • Level 1 (120V AC): 6 hours and 40 minutes
  • Level 2 (240V AC): 1 hour and 30 minutes

Level 1 charging is the slowest, but it’s the easiest to achieve since all you need to do is plug it into a standard three-prong 120-volt outlet. Level 2 charging can either be accomplished at home charging stations or at a public charger. We don’t have time for Level 3 DC public charging stations, but you can expect these times to be significantly faster than Level 2 times.
